My family immigrated to Canada from France many years ago before I was born. My brother and sister were both born in France but as I am the youngest of the family I was born on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo. Growing up with a mix of both cultures I was brought up with lots of exposure to Canadian life and French Culture. My parents always cooked a lot and from as far back as I remember I was always in the kitchen helping. For our vacations we would visit our extended family in France and my dad would always take me to try new foods or things he ate as a kid and that we couldn’t get here in Canada. These were moments I would cherish and ultimately is what made me choose a career in the culinary world. After a year of university in Canada, I made the switch and moved to France to do a Bachelor in French Pastry and entrepreneurship at Ecole Ducasse which led to a beautiful three years in France learning from the best chefs. I started at 19 years old and came to Vancouver straight after I finished my degree. One day I hope to have my own business and a place people can come and enjoy great food and feel like I felt as a kid in a pastry shop when I was young.
